When something doesn't work

Not-found answers, refusals, errors and cut-off replies — what each one means and what to do

AS-5Working with the assistantAll sections ↓

Most things that go wrong in a chat are one of a few kinds, and each says so plainly.

"Not found" and other outcomes

Often nothing is broken: your organization's system simply answered no. A customer that does not exist, an item that is sold, an amount over a limit. These appear as a calm outcome card that says what the system said, sometimes naming the field that was wrong. The assistant reads it too, and will usually ask you for what it needs or suggest another way. Correct the detail and carry on.

Your message didn't go

Not delivered · Try again under your message means it never reached the assistant: usually no connection. Tap it to send again when you are back online. See Offline (TS-4).

The assistant couldn't finish

  • The assistant is busy. Try again in a moment. The AI service is overloaded. Wait a little and send again.
  • The answer was cut off before a step was complete. Ask again, or ask for less at once.
  • Couldn't reach a system: that system did not answer. It may be down, or you may be off its network.
  • The assistant can't help with that. The request was outside what it will do.

Notices that are not errors

Telling someone

If something keeps failing, use Copy Chat Reference in the chat's menu and give the reference to your support team, or use Report an Issue, which attaches it for you (MAC-3). Settings → General → Diagnostics lists recent errors, never the content of your chats. Your organization's support line, if it has one, is under Help in Settings → Accounts.
