Making a streamline

Making your own streamline in the Library — name and look, briefs and instructions, model, MCP servers, welcome and quick phrases

FR-2On this deviceAll sections ↓

On this device you make your own streamlines. Open the Library and choose New Streamline. To change one later, open it in the Library (or choose Edit in Library from its menu: touch and hold its row, or right-click it on the Mac). The editor itself is described in The streamline editor (LIB-3); this page says what each part is for. Or ask the Concierge (FR-7) to set one up with you.

Streamline

A Name (the only thing you must fill in) and a Description, one line under the name.

Icon: pick a symbol and set the streamline's color for light and dark, or give it a logo (an image of your own, or the service's own logo). The symbol stays as the fallback. Theme: Follow the account (the account's theme), Own color (an accent of your own, optionally on another theme), or a whole theme: Base, Quiet, Harbour, Refined Calm, Amber, Paperwhite (light only) or Nord (dark only). Your messages, the streamline's buttons and its cards wear it. See Appearance (AP-1).

Instructions

The Briefs it includes, read first (see Briefs, LIB-2), then its own Instructions: what this assistant is for and how it should behave, in plain words. You help me run my shop's orders. Always look the customer up before changing anything. Your servers' own rules still apply whatever you write here. Never put keys or passwords in the instructions.

Model

  • ID: claude-sonnet-5-5 (the default), claude-haiku-5-5 (faster and cheaper) or claude-opus-5-5 (most capable).
  • Effort: from low to max. Higher effort thinks longer and costs more.
  • Max tokens (optional): the longest answer one call may give.
  • Own model key (optional, at the foot of the editor): see The Vault (FR-5).

MCP servers

The tools the assistant can use. Add one or more Servers, each with its own sign-in and tool rules. See Adding MCP servers (FR-3) and Tool rules (FR-4).

Welcome and quick phrases

  • Welcome: what the assistant says at the start of every new chat. It is drawn on your device and never sent to the model.
  • Placeholder: the hint in an empty message field.
  • Quick phrases: things you often say. Each has a Label and the Text it says, and a Send switch: on (the default), a tap sends it; off, it goes into the composer for you to finish. The first four also appear as starter chips in a new chat.

Cards and more

Card designs draw a tool's results (see The Library, LIB-1), and Image hosts names the sites their pictures may come from. More holds the rest: when chats may be archived, which files the paperclip takes, and the scan button.

Saving and deleting

Save keeps your changes; Revert goes back to what is saved. Anything that would let a tool run without your tap, a new server or a new streamline shows the changes first and waits for Save on that card. A saved change can be undone from the Concierge's history. Delete this streamline removes it and its chats from this device (Delete streamline and its chats). Your sign-ins, briefs and default key stay.
