Daily limits

What to do when you've reached today's limit, and what the warning before it means

TS-3TroubleshootingAll sections ↓

Your organization can limit how much its streamlines are used each day. When a limit is close or reached, the chat tells you calmly, in place of the assistant's reply.

The warning

A quiet banner such as You've used 82% of today's limit means you are getting close. Everything still works. Finish what you are doing; there is no need to hurry.

The limit

When a limit is reached, the assistant does not answer, and a notice says which limit it was:

  • You've reached today's limit. Your own limit across all streamlines.
  • You've reached today's limit for this streamline. Your limit in this one streamline; others may still work.
  • Your team has reached today's limit. A limit shared by everyone in your role.
  • This streamline has reached today's limit for everyone.

Each ends: It resets at midnight UTC; your manager can raise it.

What to do

  • Wait for the reset at midnight UTC (that is a different time in your time zone), or
  • ask your manager to raise the limit, then send your message again.

Nothing is lost. Your chat, its cards and the overview stay as they were, and you can still read and copy from them. Steps that need the assistant wait until the limit lifts.

On this device (free)

There are no Streamliner limits on this device. Anthropic may limit your own key; if it does, the chat says Your Anthropic account is rate limited. Try again in a moment. Check your account at console.anthropic.com.
