The iPad's sidebar and cards in either orientation, Side by Side, and the iPhone's list and chat
The iPad and iPhone show the same streamlines, chats and pages as the Mac, laid out for the space you have.
iPad
The sidebar sits on the left, with the account switcher on top, then your streamlines and the rows below them: Discover (coming soon), Library and Usage (where you have them), Vault, Settings, Style, About and Report an Issue. Each streamline opens as a card: its open chats are tabs along the top, + starts a new one, and the overview opens beside the chat from the card's header.
As on the iPhone, each streamline in the sidebar lists its open chats beneath it; tap one to open it as the card's selected tab. Tap a streamline itself for its latest chat (or a new one). Touch and hold a streamline for its menu: a new chat, Show Finished Chats, Archive All Finished, its Theme, Edit in Library. Touch and hold a chat for the same menu as its tab. A new chat appears in the sidebar once you type in it.
Side by side
Side by Side is the iPad's ⌘ key. It stands at the top of the sidebar, and as a small two-panel button at the end of every card's tabs:
- Tap it to turn it on (it lights up), then tap other streamlines in the sidebar: each one opens beside the cards already on screen instead of replacing them. Tap a chat under a streamline to put that chat beside, and tap a tab in a card to show two of its chats side by side inside the card. Tap Side by Side again to turn it off.
- Or hold it with one finger while you tap with another; it turns off when you lift.
- With a keyboard attached, hold ⌘ and tap, as on the Mac.
- Touching and holding a streamline's row also offers Show Side by Side.
Each card in a side by side has an ✕ in its header: tap it to take that card out. Remove from Side by Side in a row's menu (touch and hold it) does the same, and a plain tap on a row (with Side by Side off) shows that card alone again. While cards are side by side, Keep This Arrangement gives them a row in the sidebar so you can come back to them in one tap (Side by side, windows and arrangements, MAC-2).
iPad in portrait, or in Split View
The iPad keeps the same sidebar in portrait, with your streamlines, their chats and Side by Side, and one card fills the rest of the screen. When two cards don't fit beside each other, they stand one above the other.
iPhone
The iPhone draws everything a third larger than the Mac, so rows and messages read at arm's length, and every button has room for a thumb. The iPad keeps the Mac's sizes. To make text larger or smaller still, use Style › Text; the largest accessibility text sizes in the iPhone's settings make it larger too.
The list comes first, laid out like the Mac's sidebar: the account switcher (the magnifying glass beside it searches your chats), then each streamline with its open chats beneath it. Tap a streamline for its latest chat (or a new one); touch and hold it for a new chat, Show Finished Chats, Archive All Finished, its Theme and Edit in Library, where you may. Below them are Discover (coming soon), Library and Usage (where you have them), Vault, Settings, Style, About and Report an Issue. On this device, until you add a key, Add a Model Key sits at the top.
Every page has a header at the top: the back arrow (or swipe from the left edge), the page's icon, its title and one line under it. A chat opens full screen with the composer at the bottom. When the streamline has other chats open, they appear as tabs under the header, the one you are in underlined and always in view, so you can move between jobs without going back; + at the end starts another. The overview button in the header opens the job's summary as a sheet you can pull up, and ••• has a new chat, Rename…, Speak Replies (where voice is on), Copy Chat Reference, the streamline's Theme (where you may change it), Close Tab (Keep the Chat), Archive Chat and, where the streamline can cancel a job, its cancel button. Closing or archiving the chat on screen moves to the streamline's next open chat, or back to the list; if the streamline only archives finished jobs, Archive Chat… says why. Press and hold a chat's tab for the same options for that chat (Rename…, Copy Chat Reference, Close Tab, Archive Chat, Delete Chat…); the title at the top no longer renames. With a keyboard attached, the Mac's shortcuts work: hold ⌘ to see them (Keyboard shortcuts, KB-1).
